Australian Dance Company is a theatrical production company designed to give up and coming youth artists the opportunity to be a part of full scale productions.

Our productions are directed by highly trained industry experts who are dedicated to passing on their knowledge to the next generation of young performers. Australian Dance Company offers the opportunity for students to work with like minded Dancers and learn what’s involved in bringing a full scale professional show to the stage.

We have also been fortunate enough to hold Workshops and Summer Schools across both Melbourne and Regional Victoria providing dance education to hundreds of passionate students. We hope to see you at our next event, our inbox is always open should you have any questions!

Nathaniel Harrison-Lamond
CEO and Producer

Nathaniel’s journey in dance began in North Queensland at the Ann Roberts School of Dance. Early in his career, he performed with Dance North’s youth company, Extensions, which provided him with invaluable professional exposure and laid the groundwork for his future in dance. Nathaniel further refined his skills at The Australian Ballet School, where he developed a robust technical foundation in classical ballet. His training in performing arts continued at Dance World, equipping him with the versatility and expertise needed to excel across various dance genres.

Nathaniel’s performance career is both diverse and impressive. He has showcased his versatility in commercial dance, performing alongside renowned Australian and international artists such as Christine Anu, Peter André, Rhonda Birchmore, and Whigfield. Performing in countless fashion shows, corporate events, sporting entertainment, children’s productions, theatre restaurants, television, music videos, and pop concerts, his gigging life was rich and diverse. His international experience includes four years with Princess Cruises, where he entertained audiences throughout the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Panama, Mexican Riviera, and Alaska, along with multiple touring productions with Disney Special Events Company, bringing beloved Disney characters to life.

In addition to his commercial and international work, Nathaniel has graced the stage in acclaimed musicals, including “Dusty – The Original Pop Diva,” “42nd Street,” “Guys and Dolls,” ” Kiss of the Spiderwoman,” and “All Shook Up.” His stage presence and talent have made him a standout in these productions.

Nathaniel is also the CEO, Co-Director, and Principal of the Academy of Dance in Malvern, a position he has held for the past two decades. He has extensive experience as a dance educator, curriculum creator, dance examiner, and adjudicator. This highlights his commitment to fostering artistic excellence. His passion for dance education and his role in mentoring young dancers continue to inspire and influence the next generation of talent.

As CEO and Producer of the Australian Dance Company, Nathaniel plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of the company. This innovative production company aims to produce high-level productions across multiple dance genres and styles, including musical theatre, ballet, and themed theatrical dance extravaganzas. The company’s debut production, “Grease the Musical,” and the enchanting ballet “Sleeping Beauty.” Nathaniel is excited to see this new, innovative production company grow and continue to make a significant impact on the dance community.

Mike Harrison-Lamond,
Co-Producer

Mike Harrison-Lamond is the Co-Producer of the Australian Dance Company, where he plays a crucial role in shaping the vision and direction of this innovative performance company. Mike’s passion for the arts, combined with his extensive background in design and communication, has been instrumental in the success of setting up of this new production company.

In addition to his role with the Australian Dance Company, Mike is also the Director of Academy of Dance, alongside his partner Nathaniel Harrison-Lamond. Together, they have dedicated the past 15 years to building and nurturing the academy, fostering the growth and development of countless young dancers.

As the founding chair of the Dance Arts Alliance, Mike has been a pivotal advocate for dance studios across Australia. This advocacy group focuses on standardizing safe dance teachings and studio practices, ensuring a secure and professional environment for dancers nationwide.

Mike’s career spans various sectors, including design and communication roles with firms in Australia, the UK, and Canada. He has also worked extensively with all levels of government and in the non-profit and NGO sector. His diverse professional background complements his artistic endeavors, allowing him to bring a unique perspective to his work in the dance industry.

From performing in shows during his youth to becoming a designer and now a producer, Mike has always been deeply connected to the arts. His transition into producing and staging shows has been marked by his commitment to excellence and innovation.

Mike is particularly excited about the development of the Australian Dance Company, which aims to produce high-level productions across multiple dance genres and styles, including musical theatre, ballet, and themed theatrical dance extravaganzas. The company’s debut production, “Grease the Musical,” and  the enchanting ballet “Sleeping Beauty.” Mike looks forward to seeing this emerging performance company continue to grow and make a significant impact on the dance community.

Lucy Harris,
Director
Lucy grew up training in all different styles of dance including Classical Ballet, Pas de Deux, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Acrobatics, PBT, Strength and Conditioning. Throughout her ballet education she has trained in the Vaganova Syllabus as well as completed exams with both the Royal Academy of Dance and Australian Conservatoire of Ballet. 
 
Lucy then went on to complete her Pre-Professional Diploma with the Victorian State Ballet and upon graduation was offered a position within the company. She danced professionally with the company in Melbourne as well as touring and performing to audiences from all over Australia. Some other highlights also included working & Collaborating with Masters of Choreography, Bloch Australia, AMPM Images and Aplomb Dance Wear.
 
Lucy’s love of educating dancers and fostering the development of young students has led her into further studies about the way our bodies work to create this beautiful art form. She has completed studies in anatomy, physiology, nutrition and personal training, she also holds her Professional Dancers Postgraduate Teaching Diploma and is a Registered Teacher with The Royal Academy of Dance. These studies have allowed her to gain a deeper understanding into the science and motor development of young bodies, deepening her knowledge in injury prevention/management and safe dance practice. 
 
Lucy has had the privilege of working with hundreds of students across Australia and is currently the Classical Ballet & Syllabus Program Manager for Australian Academy of Dance. She has also taught in many local and regional schools, held workshops and most recently directed Australian Dance Companys production of The Sleeping Beauty & Swan Lake. She absolutely loves fostering a ‘love of dance’ in her students, encouraging them to work towards their milestones and develop as individual dancers.
